Careers Day with Midhurst College and FWAG South East
As part of our commitment to community engagement, Playsafe recently welcomed students from Midhurst College to our site for a careers day focused on biodiversity, conservation, and outdoor career opportunities.
While Playsafe is known for designing and manufacturing playground equipment, our base of operations is also located on a working farm in the beautiful South Downs. As part of our commitment to the environment, we have recently joined a stewardship scheme to help improve biodiversity and support wildlife across our land.
FWAG South East (Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group) are working with us for our stewardship scheme and advise on best practices for rewilding and habitat improvements. We were delighted to welcome Suzie and Nadya from FWAG, who kindly volunteered their time to help us with this event.
The Farm Tour
During the visit, they took the students on a tour of the farm and introduced them to the different crops and habitats we have established. This included nitrogen-fixing plants, grasslands, and hedgerows — all of which play an important role in supporting wildlife.
The students had the opportunity to explore the farm and spot a variety of species, including butterflies and birds such as red kites and buzzards.
The visit also provided an opportunity for students to learn about careers within conservation, farming, and the wider agricultural sector. Suzie and her colleague shared their own career journeys and explained how their passion for protecting wildlife led them into the work they do today.
One of the key themes from the day was the students’ enthusiasm for careers that allow them to work outdoors, stay connected with nature, and make a positive difference.
We hope this experience encouraged the students to consider the wide range of rewarding careers available within environmental and outdoor industries.
A huge thank you to FWAG South East for joining us and helping inspire the next generation.
