Local families come together to celebrate the exciting new improvements at Parbrook Play Area in Billingshurst.
Families in Billingshurst had plenty to celebrate on 1 September, as Horsham District Council hosted a special ‘Pop Up in the Park’ event at Parbrook Play Area.
The event gave local children the chance to enjoy a range of games and activities, as well as explore some exciting new additions to their local play space. Among the highlights were a brand-new zip wire and snake swing, which proved popular with young visitors.
The improvements form part of Horsham District Council’s ongoing programme to enhance play areas across the district, creating fun, welcoming spaces for children of different ages and abilities to enjoy.
Works Carried Out by Playsafe
Playsafe Playgrounds were delighted to deliver a number of improvements at Parbrook Play Area, helping to give the space a fresh new look while introducing exciting new opportunities for active and imaginative play.
A New Snake Swing
A new snake swing has been installed within the play area, providing a fun and sociable experience where several children can play together.
The swing has been complemented by a new green SafaPour™ safety surface, providing a durable and impact-absorbing surface beneath the equipment.
Brand-New Zip Wire
For children looking for a little more speed, a new zip wire has been introduced in the wider open space. Offering an exciting ride across the area, the zip wire is sure to become a firm favourite with local families.
Playsafe also installed a Safamulch™ safety surfacing pathway, creating a continuous route from the play area entrance towards the zip wire and beneath the equipment.
New Sheltered Seating
The improvements aren’t just about play. New wooden sheltered seating has been introduced close to the pathway, creating a comfortable space where parents, carers and visitors can sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Positioned higher up on the hill, the seating provides a tranquil spot for carers to supervise children at play while taking in the surrounding area.
A Refreshed Play Space
As well as the new play equipment and surfacing, a number of general improvements have been made throughout the space. New gates have been installed and sections of fencing have been repaired, helping to give the whole area a cleaner, brighter and more welcoming appearance.
With the improvements now complete, Parbrook Play Area has been given a new lease of life, providing local children with even more opportunities to play, explore and enjoy time outdoors.
