Here is another Playsafe Playgrounds project for Colliers Green Primary School Cranbrook in Kent. Playsafe Playgrounds Ltd was asked to manufacture, supply and install the following Robinia Hardwood Equipment:
Tractor Climber –
Supply and install a low level tractor climbing unit constructed as follows –
- Approximate overall dimensions of 3600mm x 2200mm x 2300mm high;
- Manufactured using hardwood Robinia Timber;
- Stainless steel fixings used throughout;
- Real tractor tyres with in-filled centres;
- Smooth sanded finish to all timbers;
- Timbers are either painted or clear stained with a UV protective coating as indicated on the graphics provided
- 600mm maximum Critical Fall Height (CFH)
Clamber Stack (low level – 600max CFH) –
Supply and install a farm themed clamber stack unit constructed as follows –
- 5 x vertical poles with carved ‘wheat’ tops to each pole;
- Manufactured using hardwood robinia timber;
- Stainless steel fixings used throughout;
- Smooth sanded finish to all timbers;
- Timbers are either painted or clear stained with a UV protective coating as indicated on the graphics provided.
- 600mm maximum Critical Fall Height (CFH)
Artificial Grass Safety Surfacing:
- Supply and lay 44m2 of 35mm pile height artificial grass surface over the existing tarmac surface.
- All edges will be cut in and glued or glued as required to ensure that there are no trip points.
- All joins will be taped and glued.
- There will be no requirement for a shock pad under the artificial grass surface as all equipment has a critical fall height of 600mm or less.
The Robinia Timber was supplied by the Dylan Group for the project, with the project management, fabrication, construction and installation carried out Playsafe Playgrounds management and installation teams.

Playsafe Playgrounds Artificial Grass Safety Surfacing
This is a high grade artificial grass that can be laid onto existing grounds or coupled up with impact matting made from recycled closed cell polyethylene foam which is heat bonded without the use of glue or chemical adhesives. It is ideal for use in and around play areas. Just like real grass, the artificial grass ais completely porous and will drain like real grass. They are also flexible so that they follow the contours of the ground. Unlike real turf though, it keeps its natural vibrant colour through all weathers.

Installation
Artificial Grass Safety Surfacing is tested in accordance with BSEN1177 (1998). It can be installed onto a stone base, grass or tarmac and has the added benefit that the expensive groundwork costs are not always necessary.
